The Messi-ah!

When I grow up, I want to play like Messi!! It seems to be what everyone is saying, old or young, as the little 10 is in fine form. With 4 goals scored against Arsenal to continue on to the Semi-finals of the Champions, and the biggest game of La Liga against Real Madrid on Saturday it's amazing how "the Flea" keeps a cool head. Lionel Messi is playing some, if not THE most impressive football ever. With another amazing season underway, and a plethora of goals under his belt, it's difficult not to have Barcelona as favorite's to win it all. Messi has been playing at a whole different level. As Maradona said, "Messi is playing football with Jesus", with the skill he's been showcasing I dont even think Jesus can beat him. Messi is small in stature but has the heart of a lion. Messi is like the Little Engine That Could, he just keeps pushing and pushing himself and the outcome... Well just ask Valencia, or Real Zaragoza where he notched a hat-trick in both games. Or if that's not enough ask Arsenal. With Saturday comes another big test against Real Madrid, but this time in their house the beautiful Santiago Bernabeu. With both teams tied at 77 points each, this game is viewed by most as the decider on who wins La Liga. So will win? Will Real Madrid pull a rabbit out of their hat's? Or will Messi or should I say, "the Messiah" bless us with another out of this world performance? Saturday will be the answer to these and more. But with Messi playing amazing soccer for Barcelona... Why not for Argentina? Argentina's dilema seems to be the coaching. As much as I love Diego Maradona, and as much as he's done for Argentina. He needs to have a squad that plays around Messi if he wants to have a chance to win the World Cup this summer. Now before you guys tell me that one player doesn't make the team let me say that I know that already. What I'm trying to say is that Messi is the kind of player where when you play around him, he's going to make you play some great soccer too. This is the formula that Pep Guardiola seems to be following. Sure Barcelona has amazing players besides Messi. There's Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andres Iniesta, Pedro, etc. They're all amazing but they know that with Messi, as goal hungry as he is, they have more than a chance, they have the way to their goal. See the beauty that Messi possesses that I think few forwards including myself have is that he's not greedy. Forwards play to score goals, it's rare to have a forward pass the ball, when he feel's he can shoot. It's cause of this quality that Messi is such an amazing player. He can make any other team a great one. In doing so, he can send Argentina a long way in this summer's World Cup, he's got the squad, he just needs to have Maradona find a way to make him the protagonist of the squad.
