Countdown to the World Cup!!

The World Cup is just 2 days away!!! 2010 World Cup will kick off on Friday with the first match-up being against the host, South Africa and Mexico. Before we get into the meat and potatos of the Cup let's see each group and the possibel out comes. We'll start off with Group A. Which consists of South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay and France. Now this group seems a bit complicated, it's got strong teams and it also includes the host country of South Africa that'll no doubtedly play some great football with their nation behind them, but don't leave out France and their star packed line-up that include football superstars like Franck Ribery, and don't leave out Thierry Henry who to me seems like the one player in all this group that needs to prove something, after qualifying France with that infamous handball. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that France will take this group as their leader and South Africa will be right behind them in 2nd place.

Then we have Group B with Argentina, Nigeria, South Korea and Greece. Argentina, although playing average soccer, are still the best canidate to win this group. With a line-up that includes current best soccer player in the world Lionel Messi (sorry Cristiano Ronaldo) this should be an easy group for the Agrentines, runner-up will be Nigeria. A very strong African team with quick players, I think they'll be to fast to handle for the Mexicans. Although Mexico also have a good team, or as the Mexican's are saying, "the best Mexican team ever" don't leave Mexico out as a runner-up candidate for group B as well.

Group C... The team with the red, white, and blue. With England, USA, Slovenia and Algeria. This group seems a bit weak, but the game that no one should miss will be the first one with England against USA. This game alone could decide who the winner of the group stage. My prediction for this group is a very, very close one. My heart says USA as the leader, but I'm gonna go with England. USA will settle for runner-up. They both have great line-ups with great players. As for the other nations in this cup, they come in here a bit week. Which should make it easy pickings for the English lions and the Stars and Stripes.

Finally, the last group I'll talk about today is Group D. Which include Germany, Australia, Ghana and Serbia. This too should be an easy group for Germany, even though they'll be without the services of their captain Michael Ballack, who due to injury will not be present for the World Cup, but new captain Phillip Lahm will fill the role nicely with his experience. Look for Ghana's Black Stars to come in 2nd.

Tommorow I'll give you guys the rest of the 4 groups including the "Group Of Death" with all this and more, this is sure to be an exciting World Cup.
