The winner of the Ballon d'Or... Messi!!!!!

The winner of the Ballon d'Or was just announced, and after months of wondering who would win. The winner was finally announced, and Lionel Messi is the victor. The short-list consisted of nothing but Barcelona stars, which included Xaxi, and Iniesta. But with a record like Messi, which includes scoring more goals then any other players in any of the top 5 European leagues. He scored 42 goals in 36 La Liga games, and finished as top scorer in the Champions League with 12 goals in 12 games. So congrats to Messi and the Barcelona side. In other news, Jose Mourinho was named top manager and Cristiano Ronaldo was named to the FIFA XI team of the year.

Once again... Javier "El Chicarito" Hernandez

I wrote about this kid almost a year ago. Saying he's going to do great in the English Premier League playing for Manchester United, but the kid has takin the league by storm with his clutch goals coming off the bench and giving the out of form Wayne Rooney a run for his money a run for his money. If you're a soccer fan and haven't heard of Javier Hernandez or "Chicharito" as he's known worlwide, then I suggest you look him up because this kid is on his way to benching Wayne Rooney. So far he's played in 21 games for the Red Devils, started 9 games and scored 8 goals. With 4 crucial clutch goals he's got an average of scoring 2 goals every 38 minutes. He's currently placed in 6th place on ESPN's list of top ten Latin American players in European leagues. Honestly I would've listed him as 4. He's clearly become a very crucial player for Sir Alex Ferguson's squad, but he's still young and has all the time in the world to become the star he's destined to be.

Xavi: The Iron-Man

Historic day for the team of Barcelona and one of it's star. Xavi has broken the record for more appearances wearing Catalans jersey. With a total of 549 appearances he's the Barcelona Iron-Man. Barcelona went against Levante on the historic game and Xavi as always was on top of his game, with over 150 passes completed, he is one of the most efficient passer's in the game to day. Congrats to Xavi on his accomplishements.

The return of Kaka!

Real Madrid faced off today against Getafe, but out of all the factors circling the game, perhaps the most important factor was the fact that Kaka has returned to the line-up. After 6 months of being sidelined. Coming on for the last 15 minutes of the game, Kaka showed little signs of the injury that had him sidelined for half a year, and showed flashes of the brilliant player we all love to watch. Which, with the current injury of Gonzalo Higuain, he's not a bad player to add to your roster. The match ended with Madrid as the victor with the score of 3-2, with a double from Cristiano Ronaldo and one from Ozil. After the game Kaka said, "I'm happy to finally be back on the pitch."Trust me Kaka, as a fellow Madrista, as am I.
